Soapbox Available

I love blogging.  Ever since I started way back in August of 2009, I have been cooking, baking, and exercising my way through life and telling all of YOU guys about it!  I’ve met some awesome real life friends through my blog and even more virtual ones.

I’d like to take the time to get a little input from my favorite readers.  Yes, this means you!  Do you have a topic you’re interested in?  A recipe you’d like to share or a kid’s craft you love?  Have you been on an awesome vacation and want to give others ideas on where to go and what to do?  Do you have a favorite restaurant you’re just dying to talk about?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then now’s you’re chance!  I’d like to start some sort of reader show and tell if you will.   Drop me a line and let me know what you’d like to talk about.  If I get enough participants, I could make this a regular post.  Wouldn’t that be fun?  Kinda like being back in grade school.

I really hope you’ll join.  Jake hopes so too.

Oh, Hai…

So, by now you notice I’ve been missing a bit.  Yeah, life has been a bit hectic lately.  My mom came for a visit in early September and since then I’ve been playing catch up at work and at home.  Well and doing a bunch of fun things also!  Here’s what you have to look forward to in the coming weeks:

Jake turned 9 months old

We finally finished the outside of our house with the completion of our landscaping

My mom and her boyfriend/partner person Wes visited

We did several fun things including going to the Renaissance festival, trying to go to the Mansfield Reformatory and failing,

taking a Thai Cooking Class,

and eating at a several places including the Cherry House Cafe,

and the Cobblestone cafe.

We took Jake to the park and had a psuedo impromptu picnic.

I tried a few new recipes of banana puff bites for Jake

and PW’s Crash Hot Potatoes for us.

I also tried freezing herbs.

Jake got new jammies!

And, oh yeah, I got a new car!

Before long I’ll be posting about Jake turning 10 months also.  I may have to do a joint 9 month/10 month post.  Ha!

Why, Hello There

Hello, all my friends out in blogger cyberspace.  I hope everyone is doing fabulously today.  I have noticed several new readers have popped up lately and I wanted to say a big HI THERE to all you newbies.  I’m so glad you found my little corner of the blogosphere.

Having so many new readers commenting lately gave me a thought…I wonder just how many bloggers live in the surrounding area?  If you are a blogger and are interested in having some sort of blogger meet up, please either comment below or send me an email to onegirlstaste@hotmail.com.  I would actually like to create a Meetup group for bloggers, but as it costs money to create a group, I’d like to get a sense of how many bloggers are in the Dayton ( or Cincy/Columbus/Indy) area.

I always thought I was the only one blogging in the area, but several of you have popped up!  I hope we can get a relatively good sized group together!  Looking forward to hearing from all of you!
